This is not a country where you rent a compact car and improvise; hiring a driver with local knowledge is generally the right move for anything beyond the capital. From Ulaanbaatar's international airport, taxis are the standard transfer option into the city center. Ride-hailing exists in Ulaanbaatar — check current app availability locally, as the market has shifted — but a arranged transfer through your accommodation is a reliable first arrival option, particularly if you're arriving late or unfamiliar with the city.
